My name is Ms Jamy Stallman
I am so excited to be the classroom teacher in Room 9 this year. We currently have an even mix of both Year 5 and Year 6 students in our class.
On a Wednesday, Mrs Shuang Aligra will be teaching the students Visual Arts and Indonesian as part of our Language program. Mrs Elizabeth Davenport will also be teaching the students Science and Money Matters on the Wednesday.
I have been teaching for the last three years at Wundowie Primary School and have also previously worked with students with special needs at another school in Northam.
I grew up with my three brothers on a farm in Queensland and my family moved to the Perth Hills as a teenager. I have been extremely lucky to have travelled around Australia and different parts of the world, but have now settled back in the Perth Hills with my family.
Term 1
Wandjoo to Term 1! Our first term back at school for the new year is packed with exciting activities.
** Breakfast Cafe each Tuesday and Friday morning from 8:20am-8:45am **
** Canteen open for Recess & Lunch (orders placed before school in the canteen) Monday & Thursday **
Week 1: Short week - start back at school on the Tuesday. World Read Aloud Day on Tuesday.
Week 2: Healthy Lunchbox Week. Futsal Coach starts in Physical Education (every Tuesday for 6 weeks).
Week 3: Friday: Meet the Teacher and games (in Room 9 - 2pm-3pm).
Week 5: Wednesday: HEC Spelling Bee (tentative date - may change). Friday: School's Clean Up Australia Day.
Week 6: Monday: Public Holiday (Labour Day - no school). Wednesday: Year 6 Student Leaders Speech Assembly.
Week 7: NAPLAN starts for Year 5 students (during Week 7 & 8)
Week 8: Tuesday: Harmony Day. Friday: National Ride2School Day and Epilepsy Awareness Day.
Week 10: Wednesday: ANZAC Day Assembly (Run by Room 9) . Thursday: Easter Hat Parade 9am.
Friday: Start of School holidays (no school) / Good Friday.
Parent/Carer/Grandparent helpers are very welcome in our class. Please either email me or pop in and see me before or after class if this is something you would like to do.
For your convenience, I have added Room 9's Term 1 planner below. You may use the links provided of the websites/online programs that can be used with your child at home to consolidate their learning from what we are doing in class.

Students use Studyladder in class to practice reading strategies, spelling and also maths concepts. Each student has their own login and has been assigned tasks by the teacher based on their ability level.

Soundwaves is Wundowie Primary School's whole-school phonics and word-study program. It is designed to develop reading, spelling and writing skills. Your child can access the online games through a class code.

Year 5 students will be sitting NAPLAN in week 7 and 8 of Term 1. You are invited to use the public demonstration tests to familiarise your child with the types of questions and layout in the online NAPLAN assessment.
