Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to Term 2.  There have been a few changes.  Mrs Wales is on leave and I am acting while she is away.  My name is Mrs Megan Irving and I have been in the Wheatbelt for 1 year.  Previously I was in the Goldfields for 20 years so I am still learning all about life in Northam and the surrounding towns.

Staff changes

As with every school there have been changes within the staff.  We are lucky enough to welcome two new staff members.  Mrs Jenni Webb comes to us from Darlington Primary School.  Jenni is a dedicated and passionate teacher who is working hard in the Year 5/6 classroom.

I would also like to welcome Mrs Kim Pomfret to the office.  Mrs Pomfret is working on a Thursday and Friday.

I am so impressed by Wundowie School community and how they have adapted to the recent COVID-19 pandemic.   I would like to especially acknowledge all of the staff for ensuring the smooth running of the school during this time.  I liken out school to a duck.  How I hear you ask? the school is running smoothly but behind the scenes, the staff are learning new skills, continuing to teach excellent programmes, ensuring all students are catered for and looking after each other.

Here are two of our dedicated staff learning about “Talk for Writing”.

Some of our amazing displays in the hallway from the Year 1/2 class.

Our Year 5/6 class hard at work

Our hard working Year 3/4 class and one of their displays.

I would like to thank the parents for not coming on school grounds.  It is so hard as a parent (I have two) to not see what is happening in the classrooms.  I have included a few picture and will continue to add more as the term progresses.

Wundowie Wows

I am so impressed by how many students have come to the office to receive a Wundowie Wow.  No doubt they are proudly displayed on the fridge at home in all their glory.  Wundowie Wows are presented to students who follow our three values of:

Be Responsible

Be Respectful

Be Your Best

A proud student with his Wundowie Wow.

I look forward to meeting you around the grounds and remember of you have any issues, please contact the school.
